A hedge fund manager in London for twenty years, a partner at twenty-eight in one of the largest funds in the world, then the founder of his own fund, Frédéric Denjoy watched from the inside as institutions collapsed with every light on their dashboards green, and came to see that what holds appears on no dashboard.

Le Courage du Réel (Reconnaissance, 2026), his first book, was born there, and in a room with a dead light bulb, at six years old: it took forty years to get out. It describes how a world is born, holds, and dies, a couple, a class, a company, a democracy. Concepts, but each with its scene and its test. He continues that work in the essays published on this site, in open access, each of which says what would prove it wrong. The book is in French; seven of the essays are available in English.
